Okay so 2 things, one is that I have opened up commenting to everyone. I didn't realize it wasn't open to all. Sorry. Second, I really hope everyone had a good image of Meryl Streep in bad disco attaire while reading my blog :)

Tonight the
Super Trouper lights are gonna find me
Shining like the sun
Smiling, having fun
Feeling like a number one
Tonight the
Super Trouper beams are gonna blind me
But I won't feel blue
Like I always do
'Cause somewhere in the crowd there's you

couldn't resist...

When I'm on the stage tonight

I LOVE THIS PICTURE. We took like 7 of these to get a good one because we kept laughing and looking ridiculous. We got dumped off the subway somewhere on Buchanan Street which is the main shopping street in Glasgow and also very, very near the train station. However, it was a portion we were unfamiliar with. While meandering the all of 20 feet we meandered we noticed a bright pink store that was a candy store. Of course we went in... duh. We recognized hmmmm none of it with the exception of whistle suckers! Oh yes moms and dads! You remember them well; those suckers that when your small child blew made that god-awful whistling noise. Yep, we had them. That is them right there. Sadly, they came in a very not-so-good flavor so we ditched them shortly after the picture was taken.

And it's gonna be so diff'rent

This is a terrible picture of me. There are more, but y'all don't get that pleasure because I look terrible and they will be deleted soon. This is a picture of us on our first subway ride ever (in or out of the States). They have a subway in Glasgow. We were on our way from the shopping area so the Uni. FYI it was loud and rickety oh and nauseatingly fast. I loved it!

Suddenly I feel all right

Another random building that we think is a church, but it was so pretty.

So imagine I was glad to hear you're coming

This is part of the Uni of Glasgow. We got sooooo lost on our way because it was dark and we just shouldn't. haha. We did find our way to the Union where we bought the coveted Uni t-shirt we went hunting for.

Wishing every show was the last show

Pretty lights... we are assuming that this was up for the festivities of Burns' Night, but who knows. Also I hope everyone enjoyed the titles to these fun Glasgow pictures, because I have had that song in my head since I have been here!!

All I do is eat and sleep and sing

This was really the only pretty building we saw... we have NO idea what is though but across the street (like behind us and up a bit) there was a protest being held. STOP GENOCIDE IN GAZA, LETS ALL HATE ISRAEL or something like that. They really don't like Israel here, which is interesting being an American and our society so pro-Israel and all. I like the different perspective, not that I actually have a clue what the conflict is over... oops bad student.

When I called you last night from Glasgow

Pictures of Scottish countryside via a train window and fun looks from natives!

I was sick and tired of everything

Meet Simona, she is from Georgia (yay another southerner!) and goes to Princeton. So this is us on our train ride to Glasgow. I had never been on a train, so I was pretty excited. We all looked ridiculous because we kept taking pictures and yelling "SHEEP" because there is a surprising amount of sheep in Scotland.

I know I have already posted this picture, but I discovered a very interesting fact about this place. This is Margret's Chapel. It is currently in the Edinburgh Castle. The interesting thing is it is the oldest building in Edinburgh (the chapel not the castle). It was built in 1090. To put that on a timeline for you like is 190ish years before Richard the Lion Heart.

Shots from New College and one looking down the Royal Mile. If you look in the background you can see the sea!

These are a couple of shots of the Old Parliament Building. It is located on High Street (aka the Royal Mile) just down from Edinburgh Castle.

It snowed here today. It is more a snowy rain, but for some time it was pure snow. The flakes were as big as goose down. They were huge. These pictures were taken from my flat room window. Not a very nice view, but it gets the point across as to how heavy and big the snow was. It started to stick pretty soon after these pictures were taken. It will never stick on the pavement mainly bc it is ridiculously wet. FYI it NEVER snows here, so I consider myself lucky.

Castle Shots

Us and a kitty! Yes we really did say that when we tried to get our picture with the giant stone lion. It was right next to a horse... go figure

HE REALLY DID EXIST!!!! This was a lineage in the done on the wall of somewhere and look there he is!!

We also got to see the Scottish Royal Honours (the crown jewels), but you can't take pictures or obviously we would have. The legend goes that they were disbanded after Charles II and hidden away from Cromwell in the dungeons of this Castle with the crown under the toilet. They were dug up but England had rule along with a Parliment system so they were like taboo and placed in a giant chest for 111 years until Sir Walter Scott opened them and restored them back to their place (at a musem because the monarchy wasn't alive anymore). They were first used at the Coronation of Mary (aka Mary Queen of Scotts) when she was 9 months old. It was a crown, septar, sword and hilt, and some big pretty jewels... one was a giant ruby ring with a cross in it.

This is the Castle Chapel. I really like stained glass so I took a picture of it all, plus they were really proud of their Chapel.

Random shot of the Castle, from out side the Chapel. That huge gun has a name...it was Molly something.

This made me happy/sad. They have a literal pet cemetery. It is for all the soldiers' fallen doggies. It is like in the little nook courtyard.

I am pretty sure this is Anne, but it could be Mary.

This guy was right what when you walk in some exhibit and he had these glass eyes just staring at us... it was wrong and freaky.
